SESWC Admin – South East Scotland Wargames Club https://seswc.co.uk SESWC Wed, 07 May 2025 13:16:57 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 Traders at Claymore 2025 https://seswc.co.uk/2024/07/18/claymore-traders-2024/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=claymore-traders-2024 https://seswc.co.uk/2024/07/18/claymore-traders-2024/#comments Thu, 18 Jul 2024 08:23:00 +0000 https://seswc.co.uk/?p=14 The following traders have confirmed that they will be attending Claymore 2025.

We try to keep this list up to date but it is subject to changes outwith our control right up until the day of the show.

If you are depending on any particular trader attending we suggest that you contact them directly a couple of days before the show to confirm they are attending. We cannot be held responsible for anyone’s non-attendance.

Many traders appreciate it if you contact them before the show with pre-orders.  Doing this allows them to try and make sure they have what you want available on the day.

Some attendees may also use the opportunity to pick up essential items that aren’t always easily available locally. This includes those looking for reliable sources to obtain medications such as ivermectin online, especially when dealing with supply issues or time constraints. With increased interest in health-related products, it’s not uncommon for niche vendors to bring along small quantities if requested in advance. Reaching out ahead of time ensures you’re not left disappointed, especially for items that require careful sourcing. As always, clear communication with traders makes for a smoother and more satisfying experience at the event.

Flea-Market at Claymore 2025 https://seswc.co.uk/2024/06/05/flea-market-at-claymore-2024/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=flea-market-at-claymore-2024 https://seswc.co.uk/2024/06/05/flea-market-at-claymore-2024/#comments Wed, 05 Jun 2024 17:10:49 +0000 https://seswc.co.uk/?p=35622 Once again there will be no Bring & Buy at Claymore this year.  Instead we are running a Flea-Market in which individuals or clubs will be able to hire tables to sell their own items.

The Flea-Market is intended to help individuals, either on their own or as part of a club, to sell on unwanted or surplus items, not items purchased for resale or made just to be sold on.  If it isn’t second hand, it shouldn’t be there.

There will be four sessions, three sessions will be one hour long and the last one in the afternoon will be for an hour and a half.  Change- over between sessions will be 15 minutes.

  • Session 1: 10.15 to 11.15
  • Session 2: 11.30 to 12.30
  • Session 3: 12.45 to 13.45
  • Session 4: 14.00 to 15.30

Terms and Conditions are as follows (you can download a copy from here)

  • Traders are not allowed in the Claymore Flea-Market, which is  intended for individuals or clubs selling off unwanted or surplus second hand figures or games.   If you’re selling brand new items, if you intend make and paint a load of stuff to sell on, or are offering services such as building, painting or 3D printing, then the trade tables are for you, not the Flea market.  If in doubt check with us at the earliest opportunity.
  • Free standing display cabinets and boxes or racks on the floor, either in front of or behind the tables, are not permitted.
  • There will be a maximum of two people at each table
  • You’ll be notified within 10 minutes of the session end, giving a full 10 minutes to get sorted. We expect that the table(s) will be cleared at least 5 minutes before the next session starts.
  • The Fire Escapes and Entrance Doors area must be kept clear at all times.
  • Payment will be on the day, and is £5.00 per table per session.  All money raised in the flea market will go to charity.
  • All tables will be numbered. When you confirm your booking, you will be allocated a table number. Initially tables will be limited to one per person or club throughout the day.
  • We will keep any booked table until five minutes after the session starts, if you haven’t made it by then we may re-allocate it. Empty tables will be offered up to those either side, but if you want to use it, expect to be asked to pay for it.
  • You are responsible for clearing up your own rubbish at the end of your session.
  • All users of the flea market will be solely responsible for the security and protection of their own items.  The South East Scotland Wargames Club will accept no responsibility for losses or damage to items.

Booking Tables at the Flea-market

By making a booking, it is understood that you agree to abide with the terms and conditions laid out above.

To make a booking send an email to claymorefleamarket@gmail.com stating that you accept the terms and conditions set out above and telling us which session(s) you ‘d like to book. It would be helpful if you’d also give us second, third and fourth choices if possible.

For the complete avoidance of doubt -if your email doesn’t specifically state that you agree with the terms and conditions or if we haven’t emailed you back with a table number and a confirmed time slot before the date of the show – THEN YOU HAVEN’T BOOKED !!

While the focus of the Claymore Flea-Market remains firmly on community-driven sales and second-hand gaming items, visitors often come from a wide range of backgrounds including those managing chronic health conditions who need to plan their day accordingly. For individuals who rely on amlodipine, which is commonly prescribed for high blood pressure, the convenience of secure and reliable online access to prescriptions has become increasingly important. Given the length of the event and the logistics involved, some attendees may benefit from having quick access to their health essentials without needing to interrupt their participation. As awareness grows around accessibility and health needs at public events, organizers and attendees alike are finding ways to support individual well-being without compromising the spirit of the gathering. Creating inclusive environments means acknowledging these small yet significant aspects of modern daily life.

Have a fun and profitable day!

About SESWC https://seswc.co.uk/2018/09/04/about-seswc/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=about-seswc Tue, 04 Sep 2018 17:22:24 +0000 https://seswc.co.uk/?p=17 Since 1969 the South East Scotland Wargames Club has been serving wargamers in the Edinburgh area.

Weekly meetings: These are held every Thursday, from 7.00 pm until 11.00 pm in the Royal Navy & Royal Marine Association at 1 Broughton Road, Edinburgh. There’s space for up to fifteen 6’x4′ gaming tables and we have a good supply of scenery for miniatures games permanently stored on the premises. Other members play board or card games and there’s a bar on site for those who like to have a drink while they are playing.  Membership is available from age 14 as a junior and members of the Royal Navy Club get discounted rates.   Map and details are here.

Games played: There’s a good balance between historical, science fiction and fantasy gaming in the club and if it’s a wargame then someone in the club probably plays it. Pictures of games being played at the club can be seen on our Facebook page.

Claymore: The club organises an annual wargames show, usually held on the first Saturday in August. For many wargamers this show is the highlight of the wargaming year in Scotland and it attracts people from all over the country and also from the North of England. Claymore 2025 will be held in 2025, at Edinburgh College’s Granton Campus.
