Armies & Army lists

People should enter as individuals. Lists should be taken from either the Impetus main rule book, any published Extra Impetus supplement or from one of the official beta lists on the Impetus website (http://www.dadiepiombo.com/beta0e.html ).

Armies should be 300pts, in 28mm, from 1 to 2 Commands. If 2 Commands are used, the bigger Command must not exceed 75% of VDT. The only exceptions to the normal restrictions are that special characters may not be used and minimums from the official lists are halved. Armies must have a camp, unless not required by the list.

Army lists must be submitted to the organiser no later than 12.00 noon on Sunday 4th September 2011. Please send them by e-mail, to daxrobertson@hotmail.com either as an attachment or in the body of the e-mail. Players will be notified that their army list has been received. It is up to you to make sure that your list is in on time.

Here is a template which you may use to record your army list and which calculates the totals and break points of you army – although any word, pdf or Excel version of your army list is fine.  Also available  is a completed example for reference (using Crusaders from the Extra Impetus supplement). Any upgrades or special instructions for your army list should be included within the “Notes” section at the bottom of the form.

NB* it is expected that disorder, opportunity and casualty markers will be used during all games. Generic markers will be provided on the day for those who do not have any.

Troop deployment sheets can be completed on the day.

Please note, it has been decided to allow the purchase of re-rolls or “Rolls of destiny” for use within the competition games *apart from those purchased as characteristics of high ranking generals. If you are using “rolls of destiny”, please include the number of re-rolls you are purchasing (5 points each) and include the points cost within the total points value of your army.

Players not submitting a list as above in a clear and legible manner will be deducted 30 vps.

All armies should be fully painted and anyone not fielding a completed force will be deducted 30 vps.

Sportsmanship (Don’t do it)

There will be no sportsmanship scoring for this event. However, if anyone feels their opponent was highly unsporting during their game they should make their feelings known to one of the umpires. Anyone brought to the attention of the umpires will then be watched more closely. Anyone being repeatedly brought to our attention may face disqualification.

Rules Queries

Hopefully, all games will be played out with the utmost fun, and run completely smoothly. If you do have any problem/rules queries then, first look in the relevant rule/army book and, if this does not satisfy you or you can’t find the answer, then please feel free to ask the event organiser or one of the umpires appointed on the day. The Umpire is free to interrupt any game to clarify or point out mistakes to players.

The Battlefield

The tables will all use fixed terrain. These will be loosely based on historical battlefields, and will hopefully add to the competition.

Optional Rules

The one day tournament rules for 2011 will be used in full as they apply to 25/28mm scale games;

Please note that there is an amendment to the section on Expert generals – “Expert General can re-roll all initiative dice (all or none), so not just one.” See http://impetus.forumsland.com/impetus-about2182.html .

Game Play

All games will be the Standard Pitched Battle. After rolling to find the attacker and defender for the game, the defender gets to choose which long edge of the table to deploy on.

The games will last 2 hours, including deployment, but at the end of the 2 hours only a limited number of actions can be taken to complete the turn, please see the Tournament Rules pdf for details.

Game Scoring

We will be using the official Impetus competition scoring system; points awarded at the competition will count towards the 2011 Impetus World League.

Awards

We will have Awards for the following; Winner, Runner Up, 3rd Place

As Impetus allows for using some mini dioramas to represent the unit bases in a visually stunning way, there will also an Eye Candy award for the force receiving most votes from the other players

Any problems?

If you have found any problems with this rules sheet, or you have any queries, then please feel free to contact the event organiser on the email below, I will try to answer them ASAP.
