Hi guys, I dont suppose someone would be able to email me an electronic copy of the SESWC castle badge/logo could they (I want to incorporate it into another document)
Watch out for copyright laws if you do. You will need the artists permission and I am not sure who owns the rights logo but it is not the club AFAIK.
I drew the original castle logo that the club uses from time to time. My inspiration was the City of Edinburgh crest which used to appear on the sides of corporation buses when I was a lad!!
The club crest should only be used for official club business.
Thank you for the kind replies gents. Appreciated.
Indeed, the Club Crest should only be used for Club Business, I wholeheartedly agree but, surprise, surprise, I do, in fact, wish to use it on Club Business (I have contacted the Committee for approval and am currently awaiting a response.)
So, assuming I recieve permission, I would appreciate it if someone could forward me a useable copy.

The point you are missing Alan is that correspondence relating to Club Business should emanate from the Club Committee, usually the Club Secretary. The Club has got into serious trouble in the past when unauthorised communications have been made by members who have an agenda of their own. If you are referring to a matter of business which will be discussed at the forthcoming EGM then I would not presume that authority will be given to you for your own ends. I would have serious doubts as to the value of your proposal for the Club of which I am the longest continuous serving member.
Thank you for your considered reply Jim, I fully take onboard your statement but, I have to admit, I am actually rather upset by your choice of words.
I value my opinion and intellect as the equal of anyone's at the club (time served or not) and would, at the very least, expect to be given the same amount of consideration as anyone else there.

Excuse me BUT WTF??!!
you just insulted me Jim, (while, in actual fact, hold you in high regard)
I'm pretty hurt here actually. I mean that. That was a seriously unkind and unnecessary thing to say
Alan
Don't be so childish and listen to what I say, in front of you and the whole club. You are taking one simple remark of mine out of context and blowing it up all out of proportion. The EGM and the AGM for that matter is the appropriate vehicle for dealing with club issues and this is a club issue so I fail to see why you are taking this personally.
Hi Jim, I just edited my reply, it's rather more considered now (you just got in there before I put it up is all)
Fair point, but, I was rather hurt by your choice of words there (as you can see)
Anyhow, water under the bridge, you are correct of course in that I should not have posted here off my own back
I'd like to now take this opportunity to apologise (in front of yourself and the whole club) for misinterpreting your comments and for any offence which I may have caused (seriously, I do respect you Jim and I don't want to offend you).
Anyhow, I am now leaving this business in the hands of the committee, they can make a decision and that will be that.

No apology required Alan as no offence was taken.
My natural instinct to protect the club that I have been a member of for almost forty years is, sadly, heavily ingrained and there are many other members who expect me to be resiliant in that respect. It is a burden I have to bear.
As to leaving this business to the committee I would think that they will need to take guidance from the membership and come to a resolution that is in the best interests of SESWC leaving out any personal opinions.
The Committee's decision was that the matter you are both talking about will be discussed at an EGM next month.
Quote:
The Club will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on Thursday 29th March 2012 to allow the membership to discuss and vote upon SESWC Committee proposals regarding the following topics:
1. Replacement of the damaged Club Hut. 2. Public Liability Insurance for the Club. 3. Honorary Membership proposal.
