...if a mighty tree falls in the forest and no-one is around to hear - does it make a sound?

As Andrew said, no great surprise there: the writing's been on the wall since the new botched army list book was released (title page bound at the back, bits of armies 'missing' or dropped off ...) Not the best production values you'd expect form FW/Black Library: and it certainly smacks of them getting this last title out and finally closing the door on WH.

John.

It's a very sad loss but as the others have said it's not too surprising.
Having spent so much on rules and army books I'll still happily game with them as they have given me lots of fun over the years.
Cheers
Dave

Dave,
like yourself a number of us have spent a fair old amount on rules and building armies and we are actually playing WAB again, just using the older lists etc but with version 2.0.

Ah, F*#k 'em......

They were becoming a waste of space.

We can still play WAB but there are certainly some better rulesets out there. Fireforge (Alessio from GW) are producing a set specifically for the Crusades which might be interesting (should have some great painted mini's in there too ;) :D .

Darrell.

Sounds Interesting Darrell -any idea what the basing conventions are likely to be in 28mm for Fireforge - or links to the development site?

Not really Dax. They did ask me if I wanted to be a part of the playtesting team but I declined as it has been a bit of a hectic 12 months for me (although I am healthy bar a lesion on my face that appears to be a benign cancer!!!- sorry to drop that one on you- just needed to come out!)

I'll get in touch with Alessio and ask what they plan on doing as regards basing and let you know what's what. I have a feeling that if Rick Priestly is in any way invloved that it may not matter all that much but I'm not certain that he's invloved, though it may seem likely).

Darrell.

Thanks Derek.

Like I say my GP thinks it's benign but it's the dermatologist whome I'm waiting to see that's going to know what's what :? .
