Announcing SALTIRE III DOUBLES details below for those interested

SALTIRE III

Warhammer Ancient Battles Tournament/Campaign
DOUBLES

Saturday 7th March and Sunday 8th March 2009
At
West Calder Community Centre
West Lothian
Scotland

A two day Campaign/tournament style event. 1500 points from WAB supplements (keeping it Ancient so not AoC or Vlad) playing four games of differing scenarios and on randomly sized tables.

The venue is ideally situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow just a few miles from the M8 Motorway and on the A71, plenty of parking is also available, there are good rail links into West Calder for those travelling by train.

The community centre has a large well lit hall for the event with a coffee lounge attached and cold drinks machines.
There are also numerous eating venues nearby to suit all taste or just bring your sandwiches and relax in the coffee bar with them between games.

The £10 non profit entry fee will include free tea and coffee and two days of gaming between 09:00hrs and 15:30hrs both days.
A number of very generous manufactures including Gripping Beast, Musketeer Miniatures, Warhammer Historical’s, and Darrell Hindley Figure Painting and Warlord Games, are all donating prizes so far. With previous donations from Figures in comfot, VVV, and I,m sure a few more to be added

Just put up on the forums could you pass on to anyone missed please or publicise as you wish.

Away for a couple of days to York so any quick replies will have to wait

Random partners by the way so no need to worry about those nasty combination armies, there will be a need to worry should you partner me or tim though.

Please also be on the look out for announcements on SALTIRE IV Pilgrimage to Evesham (Crusades) To be announced shortly this will be a Cracker

It's Random partners each game so no super combinations agreed beforehand.

That's a better way of playing it, though I think I would have been tempted to go for a random partner perhaps for a day or both days.

Still, if it encourages balanced armies I'm happy.

Cheers,

Darrell.

Hi Guys

I'm certainly considering going along to this. I quite like the idea of (random) doubles -- should keep it nice and light?????

Who else is going in for this?

I now have to consider whether its Vikings (those Orcadian beserkers are soooo much fun) or to go with the Israelites again?????????

Donald.

I'm not sure re this, but might go if you'd like to double up on the Vikings.

Not sure though.

Hugh,

It's random partnerships for each game.

Cheers,

Darrell.
